A marginal lunar eclipse occurs for western South Africa around sunset today.

The Moon will miss the umbra (deep inner shadow), so it will remain well-lit throughout the eclipse, which starts at 14:15 and ends at 18:51. The moment of greatest eclipse is at 16:33, and the eclipse is almost over as the Moon rises over eastern South Africa.

The eclipse can also be seen from Europe, eastern Africa, Asia, Australia, the Pacific, and North America.

nothing more to see. please move along.
