Jupiter (2010 Oct 03)
Contributor: Pete Scully
Canon EOS 1000d, EOS Movie and Registax; 2x Barlow, 14 fps for 7 seconds.
Pete Scully shares his latest image of Jupiter, acquired on the morning of 2010 October 03. "Was playing around with the Canon 1000d and a free software Canon EOS Movie Recorder", Pete writes. "The software uses the camera live view function to create an AVI movie of excellent quality."
Pete's image shows two of Jupiter's large moons, Io (nearest the planet) and Europa. And notice that the second equatorial belt still hasn't returned.
"The Canon 1000d appears to be a very good all rounder - deep space and planetary," Pete concludes.
