Venus and the Moon at dusk, 2007 June 18

by Mauritz Geyser

2007 June 18

Mauritz captured the Moon and Venus from Rosh Pinah in Namibia (S27 57.718 E16 45.640) using a Canon EOS 350D attached to a Canon L series lens set to 400mm and f/5.6. The image was taken at 19h48 SAST.

His image beautifully shows the "dark" portion of the Moon, readily seen with the naked eye but impossible to photograph without also over-exposing the sunlight fraction.
