Venus and Saturn at dusk, 2007 June 16

The young lunar crescent just above the distant mountains. At the centre of the image is Venus. Continuing the line upwards is Saturn, and then Regulus in Leo.

Kos writes: "By the evening of the 16th the separation of Venus and Saturn was 10.5 degrees, having moved around 10 degrees closer since the first couple of images [June 06/07]. The props (friends) around the fire arrived rather late and so could not get the human element in the shot."

Canon EOS 30D, 18mm lens at f/3.5, ISO 1000, 6-sec exposure.
