2007 January 24, Wednesday. Wide-field view from Seapoint beachfront, Cape Town. The dramatic view shows the bright laser pointer Pat used to pin-point the faint comet from the beachfront. "I could only see the comet only with averted vision most of the time," Pat writes, and "could just make out what I thought was the curved top and then the tail going down to the head just under a bank of clouds." With the laser pointer showing the way, "all those around could see where the comet was", Pat writes.
