2007 January 19, Friday. Adlina imaged the comet from Signal Hill drive lookout point, Cape Town. Nikon D50, 18mm f/4, ISO 200, 20s exposure at 21:17.
The three bright stars are alpha Pavo (far left), alpha Grus (above the comet) and Fomalhaut (top, right). The yellow tinge of Beta Grus (centre, top) is obvious in the image; the star has B–V = +1.6.
The extensive tail, curving over to the right, is over 10° broad in places, and an arc of over 32° can be traced on the photo.
