Light pollution and Messier 83

This composite image shows two views of NGC 5236 (M83), one taken from the city of Rustenburg, the other from a farm about 50km outside of town. Each exposure was for 10 minutes at ISO 800 with an 8-inch f/10 telescope.
"The image speaks for itself," George says, adding, "makes you want to sell everything and move to the Karoo."
George recently submitted a stacked image of NGC 5236 taken from his dark-sky site.
