Southern sky around the Large Magellanic Cloud

From Sutherland, on the weekend of 2007 April 07, Ferdi imaged the sky around the Large Magellanic Cloud (centre, top). The field, about 37° wide, shows the stars of Chamaeleon, Dorado, Hydrus, Mensa and Reticulum. The bright star near the centre is gamma Hydri, while at the upper-right edge is alpha Doradus. On a line between them is the bright star alpha Reticuli. The three pairs of stars upper-left are in Chamaeleon.
