2007 March 03/04 . "I live in Ficksburg and I only heard that there was to be an eclipse at about 9:30 on Saturday night when my daughter told me," Tessa writes. "I went online and found your site and used some of the advice for the settings I needed to capture the lunar eclipse. Thanks!! Great site.
"I thought you might like to see my images that I took. I have adjusted levels and sharpened a little. I have a Nikon D70s and I used my Nikkor 70-300mm zoom lens.
"It was really beautiful, especially the red 'totality' moon," Tessa said, noting however that "unfortunately we had a storm in the middle so I missed almost an hour of it. I shall try different settings and shutter speeds next time because the red ones have not come out too clearly. (I am amazed that the top of the moon looks like a pumpkin or squash with those whitish stripes radiating from that centre circle!)"
